Semi Auto Rifles now require a permit. New York has changed its laws. Again. Any semi auto rifle (including a $50 rusty .22) now requires a purchase permit. "Assault" style rifles are still banned from purchase by NYS residents (except law enforcement & FFLs). Delaware and Chenango counties are adding an endorsement to your pistol permit as an answer for this new license. If you don't have a pistol permit, then you have to get a license to purchase a semi-auto rifle. If you need us to hold a rifle while you get the necessary paperwork, we're more than happy to do so. Also we now need to record ammo purchases including your date of birth and occupation along with the normal stuff. Thank your democrat assembly, senate & governor. The vote was straight down party lines with only a handful of dissenting democrats.
